Mad Dash

Oops, I meant to post something beauty related before I went down to Melbourne for Oz Comic Con, but in the last minute rush it totally slipped my mind! Please accept these three makeup looks as a token of my apology :)

This makeup look was inspired by this post from Diana of Morgaine's Realm. I loved the pairing of the matte turquoisey-seafoam colour on the lid with neutrals in the crease, and a grey liner. I don't have a grey liner, and the only similar colour I own has a noticeable shimmer (no Heartbreaker palette for meeeee D:), so I said 'fuck it' went for a bright blue and red-toned brown liner instead.

Was listening to an audiobook as I got ready :P 

Supanova Sydney Convention Photos

Even though I'm still sick, I figured this post was way overdue. Here are the photos I recently got at Supanova Sydney! I went VIP for the first time ever, which gave me the power to skip photo and autograph lines, a seat in the first couple of rows at each panel, and an invite to the VIP party with the celebs on the Saturday night. VIPs also get 4 free photo tokens and 4 free autograph tokens with celebs of their choosing. The price tag isn't cheap, but it pays for itself four times over in my opinion! If I didn't love volunteering for Supanova so much, I'd probably go VIP everytime :)

*sniffles*

So I had such a good time at Supanova Sydney on the weekend, that I'm now sick with a horrific sore throat and runny nose! I'll be taking a little break from the interwebz for a few days, until I feel a little bit more human. Then I'll spam the shit of you guys with convention and makeup photos :3 

Lookbomb!

While I'm off frolicking around at Supanova Sydney, here are a few looks I've done that either weren't interesting enough, or didn't photograph well enough to deserve their own posts. I liked them all, but unfortunately my camera doesn't seem to agree with me most of the time! >__< 

In this one I used Femme Fatale Dreamstate on the lid over NYX Electric Blue Eyeliner, with MAC Wedge eyeshadow in the crease. On the lower lashline I'm wearing Femme Fatale Desecration over MAC Undercurrent Pearlglide, and MAC Crystal Avalanche on the inner corner. Cheeks are probably NP Set Contour Palette, MAC Pink Cult Blush and Benefit High Beam to highlight. The lips are probably a teensy bit of MAC I Love Winter Lipstick <3 

This was loosely based on a look Lucy Hale/Aria wore in the Homecoming episode of Season 1 of Pretty Little Liars. I used a matte skintone shade from Inglot dusted lightly all over the lid, with MAC Wedge in the crease. I smudged Femme Fatale Dreamstate over NYX Electric Blue eyeliner on the top and bottom lashlines, and popped MAC Crystal Avalanche on the inner corner. I used the same NP Set Palette/Pink Cult Blush/High Beam combo for cheeks, and the Gaga/Winter combo on the lips. I'm obviously a creative type with my lips and cheek at 7am :P 

No idea why I'm looking so oddly pale here.... 

On the eyes I wore Femme Fatale Cosmetics Desecration on the lid over NYX Slide on Pencil in Golden Olive. I popped Femme Fatale Polymorph in the crease, with Desecration on the lower lashline over MAC Undercurrent Pearlglide (frakking LOVE this liner!) I know MAC Pink Cult blush is involved on the cheeks and I Love Winter lipstick on the lips, but not sure what I'm wearing for gloss or that golden highlight! D: 

LOL and look how tanned I am here in comparison...

This was basically a pink version of my Amethyst Avalanche look. I used MAC Vex on the lid and inner corner over Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Bedaub. Slapped Femme Fatale Mysticism in the crease, and on the lower lashline over Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeliner in Amethyst. NP Set Contour Palette, Illamasqua Powder Blush, and Benefit High Beam to highlight. MAC Viva Glam Gaga I Lipstick on the lips, with Sportsgirl Give Some Lip Liquid Lip Colour in Dress Up on top. 

Ignore my wonky eyebrows here. All I remember about this look is that I'm wearing MAC My Paradise Cheek Powder as blush (just the orange part, not the gold overspray), and MAC Ever Hip Lipstick over NYX Coral Lipliner. Good lord, I haven't worn a bold coral in so long....

I quite liked this colour combo, but unfortunately all my eye shots turned out blurry, so you just get 3 near identical face shots for this one! I don't really have anything exciting to say for this one, I'm too excited about the weekend! I'm being obnoxious and going to another convention, this time Supanova in Sydney. I bought a VIP pass so I can rub shoulders with Tricia Helfer, Tonks from Harry Potter, Christopher Lloyd and Verne Troyer (Mini Me!) I'm crossing my fingers that I don't do anything to embarrass myself in front of Tricia Helfer, because I absolutely adore her. *___*

Vampire Diaries Convention Photos

I was in Melbourne over the weekend for another convention, this time for The Vampire Diaries. The lineup had undergone some devastating changes in the lead up to the event, but we were still treated to a great lineup with Steven R McQueen (Jeremy Gilbert), Nathaniel Buzolic (Kol Mikaelson), Malese Jow (Anna), and David Anders (Uncle John Gilbert). I was more nervous and excited for this convention than any of the others I've attended, and I'm not quite sure why. I fangirl over other shows, but I was especially nervous before my photos with the actors at this con! :3

I can't possibly articulate how stupidly amazing this con was, my face and throat hurt from laughing so much by the end of it. Steven R McQueen leaned over me to start the day, and Nathaniel Buzolic sat next to me in the venue, giving me a hug before dashing off to take photos. Nate also spoke to my friend on the phone, who had a major ladyboner for him when he hosted The Mint back in the day.

You know the day is off to a good start when Steven R McQueen hovers over you while giving shit to the girl next to you :P

Take A Powder

Here's another look I did using Femme Fatale Cosmetics. This had been sitting in my drafts for a few days, and I was inspired to post it after seeing Emma blog about her love for powdery blue eyeshadow (sidenote: isn't that lip combo to die for on her?!) As you read this I'm currently down in Melbourne for another convention, this time it's for the Vampire Diaries! *fangirls* You can expect a bunch more duckface pretty people picspam from me on Monday! And maybe I'll buy myself some pretties while I'm down in Melbourne, too. ;]
