Recently I purchased and also received a few pieces for review from Illamasqua's latest release, Theatre of the Nameless. Inspired by the hedonistic underworld of 1920's Berlin, the promo images are dark, raunchy and nothing short of breathtaking. If one thing's for certain, Illamasqua does promo images right.
But unfortunately I'm not here to blather about how orgasmic the promo shots are, I'm here to talk about the products! I received Depravity Cream Pigment and Belladonna Intense Lipgloss for review, and the very next day I jumped online to order Androgen Cream Pigment, Berber and Zeitgeist Pure Pigments, and I snagged Medium Pencil in Vow as a freebie with their Refuse to Be Everybody Boutique offer. I'm not reviewing these since the majority of them only came on Saturday morning, so I'm just going to show swatches and my offer first impressions. :3
Clockwise From Top: Depravity Cream Pigment, Zeitgeist Pure Pigment, Belladonna Intense Lipgloss, Berber Pure Pigment, Medium Pencil in Vow, and Androgen Cream Pigment. The order is kinda busted but I hope you can figure out which is which. :)
I've swatched the Cream Pigments quite heavily here to get a solid line of colour, as they have quite an interesting texture. I'll go into it more later this week when I swatch all the Cream Pigments, but it's a harder, drier texture with a matte finish. The shades shown here have a bit of a sheen as they've been swatched thickly and aren't quite dry, but they do dry down to a matte finish. They're quite pigmented but can be sheered out if you'd like a softer wash of colour.
Depravity Cream Pigment is simply described on the website as 'Magenta' and I can't argue with that! It's more red than the photos show (purples photograph like shit, yo), and it's a slightly less intense, redder version of MAC Madly Magenta Cream Colour Base. I can't wait to use this as a cheek and lip colour, and as an eyeshadow base under purple and pink shadows.
Androgen Cream Pigment is just described as a 'Coral' on the site and guess what? It's a less intense version of MAC Virgin Isle CCB. If only they'd released a bubblegum pink Cream Pigment that was a less intense version of MAC Tickle Me Pink CCB, I'd have dupes for my entire DIY CCB Trio! This is a little more peach in real life, closer to how the bottom of the swatch looks in the above sunlight photo. You can bet I'll be using the shit out of this as a cream blush.
Zeitgeist Pure Pigment is just described as a 'dark shimmer' and if you were wondering, it's nothing like Android, which is described as a 'shimmering charcoal black'. Android is a metallic black packed with silver shimmer, whereas Zeitgeist is a deep, sooty matte black base with a dusting of rainbow shimmer. I wasn't able to pick this up easily with my finger to swatch it, but I'll obviously have to be a classy lady and apply it to my eyeballs using an actual brush to get a better idea of how it applies.
Berber Pure Pigment is apparently an 'auburn shimmer', but I think it's too light and orange toned to be auburn, unless auburn itself is a completely different shade to auburn hair. When I swatch this heavily on my arm it's a metallic ruby red with silver shimmer, but my application for these swatch photos was much lighter, and it appeared like a slightly orange-toned red with gold glitter. I'll have to see how it fares on the eye and report back with photos.
Belladonna Intense Lipgloss is a 'deep pink', which I guess is pretty accurate if not all that informative. It's a bit deeper and slightly more blue-toned in real life. It's too dark and berry-toned to be a fuchsia, so I guess it's a deep berry pink. As far as first impressions go it's sticky but not as sticky as a MAC Lipglass, and is opaque with a patent leather finish. I'll comment on application and longevity more when I post an actual look using this product.
Delirium Cream Pigment is not actually from this collection, but was the only other Cream Pigment I didn't have. When Toxic Nature came out I bought all the Cream Pigments except this one, thinking that 'rose taupe' didn't sound like a shade I'd get much use out of. Then I saw Dana chatting on Twitter about using it as a cream blush, and I suddenly wanted to try that ish out. I'm thinking it'll be great on its own as a plum cream blush, and will be awesome layered under NARS Douceur and Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed. I'm also excited to see how it'll work under a shimmery berry pink shade like Physicians Formula Wet/Dry Baked Blush in Baked Berry.
Vow Medium Pencil is also not from this collection, but I picked it up as part of their Refuse to Be Everybody Boutique offer. If you spend £60+ in the Illamasqua store, you can add one of the products from the boutique to your cart and get it free with the REFUSE60 code! I've been wanting a flesh-coloured eyeliner for ages, so I nearly piddled my pants when I saw this in the boutique. The boutique is updated with different products on a fairly regular basis, so you'll probably find something you like each time you order. Anyway, this is described as a 'cool apricot yellow' although it's canary yellow on my hideously white forearm. XD

| In sunlight Everything here is a touch darker in real life, so check the shade and flash photos for a better indication |

-------------------
I hope this was of some assistance to people, although I suck at life and wasn't able to capture the shades 100% accurately. :P I'll be doing reviews on all products eventually, but I can't give any indication on when that will be. I still haven't reviewed the goodies I got from the Toxic Nature launch, as I try to use products for an absolute age before reviewing them. I'll have a swatchfest and general thoughts on the Illamasqua Cream Pigments up later in the week though, and a post comparing each of these products to similar shades in my stash.
