It's no secret that I love MAC Impassioned. It's insanely bright, has a wonderfully creamy pigmented formula, and is a total chameleon. It's a watermelon pink that can lean anywhere from coral to hot pink depending on what you pair it with, and I love playing that up. The thing is, MAC Impassioned is really bright. I'm continuing to push the envelope at work when it comes to wearing colour, and I was dying to wear Impassioned, but I wasn't brave enough to sport it at full strength to the office.
I'd already worn Impassioned as a stain, and for blogging purposes I didn't want to repeat that. So I was looking through my stash for something similar but more safe for work, when I rediscovered the Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink About It. I bought and wore this lipstick a whopping one time before I relegated it to the back of my stash, convinced that the yellow undertones were horribly unflattering on me.
But given how much confidence I've gained in experimenting with makeup between now and then, I decided to give Pink About It another shot. I've learned so much more about how to make a lip colour work by making strategic choices with the rest of my makeup, and I generally just have bigger balls when it comes to wearing colour. I immediately fell head over fucking heels for Pink About It. It's brightish but wearable, and the Revlon Mattes just have a glorious non-drying formula.
Now if I was a good blogger, I'd be showing you product shots and comparison swatches right about now, but I'm not and this is a bit of a filler post. ^__~ I've since discovered another Impassioned-esque colour in my stash though, so if I decide not to be full of fail I'll try to post comparisons between all of them during the week! So treat this as a 'fuck yeah Impassioned is awesome' post and nothing more, haha.

And hey, if I'm feeling bold or want to amp it up on a non-work day, I can add something like MAC Style Packed Lipglass over the top and get this:

On a serious note, I know I've been a shit blogger lately. For the past couple of weeks it's just been a matter of me being shit at scheduling posts, but as of this weekend I have some really rough family drama I'm going through. Funnily enough, that's actually motivated me to keep posting because I need to have blogging as that escape. Just wanted warn y'all though, things might be a bit weirder and rockier in my little corner of the interwebz for a while.
