MAC + Callooh & Callay Haulin'

When I fall off the Project 10 Pan/No Buy wagon, I fall off hard. Hey, I had issues at home and also started earning real money in my big girl job, so what's a little splurging between friends? ;]

Lately I've picked up a few pieces from MAC here and there, and here's the stuff that's arrived in the mail thus far! I asked Heather to CP me the Mineralize Blush in Subtle Breeze from the Naturally collection, and Party Parrot Lipstick from the Iris Apfel collection. I picked up Tread Gently Tendertone and Bare Study Paint Pot from Ebay, for slightly higher than US RRP, but far lower than AU RRP. *grumbles about Aussie inflated cosmetic prices*

Clockwise from top left: MAC Tread Gently Tendertone, Bare Study Paint Pot, Subtle Breeze Mineralize Blush and
Party Parrot Lipstick

Everybody and their mum raves about the MAC Tendertones, so when they made a reappearance with Shop MAC, Cook MAC, I figured I better pick one up and see what all the fuss is about. I don't think it's the be all and end all of lip balm, but Tread Gently felt nice on the lips and added a pretty shimmer. So erm.....naturally I went back and bought the other three online >__> *shrugs* What can I say, lip products make me go weak at the knees!

When I first mentioned my disappearing eyeshadow dilemma a few months ago, a reader (sorry I forget your name D:) suggested I try wearing MAC Paint Pots on their own. I'd always been curious about Paint Pots in the past, but I had enough creamy bases and never wore them without a powder on top. Fast forward to now, where I'm wearing neutrals almost everyday for work and having trouble with getting powder eyeshadow to stay, and Paint Pots are suddenly the most appealing product on the planet. I picked up Bare Study from Ebay.

Y'all can probably tell that I absolutely adore MAC Hang Loose Mineralize Blush given how many times I've used it on the blog, so when I saw that MAC were releasing three more Mineralize Blushes with the Naturally collection, I pounced! I love how the pink side of Hang Loose is glowy without having any actual shimmer, and figured that these would be along the same line. Based on online swatches the coral one seemed like it'd turn ruddy and make me look like I have rosacea, while the apricot one just looked too yellow-y orange for me to pull off. So I settled with Subtle Breeze, which happens to be unlike any other pink blush in my stash. It's a blue-toned medium rosey pink that glows without being obviously shimmery. *swoons*

And I fucking love Impassioned Lipstick, so the brighter, matte Party Parrot had to be mine. :D

Now for some Callooh & Callay pretties...

Like I said, earning real money in my big girl job makes online shopping hard to resist!

I always wear basic black to work and jazz it up with quirky bags and necklaces. I've wanting to pick up more pieces from Callooh & Callay ever since I made my first purchase, so I headed straight for Callooh & Callay when payday rolled around. I adore my purple balloon dog necklace, so I also picked up a blue balloon poodle and UV green balloon dachshund. I'd also been lemming the beautiful snowflake necklace since Christmas, and the pink balloon heart necklace was just too cute to resist. Lillian is beyond lovely and just threw in the yellow balloon dog brooch as a free gift!

Yay for pretties! ^__^
